Psychotherapy
What Is Client Centered Therapy?
Client centered therapy, or also person centered therapy, is a non-directive approach to talk therapy. It requires the client to take the lead, while the therapist acts as a source of support for the client. Person centered therapy allows the client to feel in control. This approach supports mental health by coming from a place of empathy during each counseling session. It also helps the client develop self-awareness.

Client Centered Therapy emphasizes that the client’s experience is just as valid as a professional’s insight, and therefore the client feels heard and understood.

When working with clients I aim to provide a safe welcoming environment. It's important to me to ensure that the client is able to identify lifelines and acknowledge the role they play in every interaction. Ownership is critical in therapy, as this allows for further growth and honesty in order to work through "real" issues.

Couples
Therapy
What is couples therapy?
Couples therapy is focused on helping a couple work through challenges, aims towards better understanding the relationship/each individual in the relationship, and developing healthier communication styles.

Many couples come to therapy because they're dealing with a specific challenge, such as communication issues, parenting styles, difficulties around sex or infidelity. My hope for couples is to "get unstuck from difficult dynamics that keep getting repeated."

What happens at couples therapy.
During these sessions I will ask specific questions to help partners communicate in a healthier, more honest way, and understand each other's perspectives and feelings better. Hopefully, in the end couples will develop new ways of approaching conflict.

I teach couples the importance of authentic interpersonal skills, so they may better listen/communicate, resolve conflict and develop self-awareness through radical acceptance & Love Language education.

Family
Therapy
What Is Family Therapy?
Family therapy is a type of treatment designed to help with issues that are impacting the functioning of the families. Family Therapy can help family members build stronger relationships, improve communication, and express themselves in a neutral environment.

Some of the primary goals of family therapy are to create a better home environment, solve family issues, and understand the culture they are creating as a unit.
The hope is for everyone to be able to build trust and respect for all members in the family in a safe/mediated environment, where each family member can authentically express themselves.
Improving emotional awareness, helping with accepting things they cannot control, and improving the mental/emotional well-being of each family member has been some of the goals my clients have created.
